In the future, long periods of heat (air temperatures above 30 °C) lasting for days or weeks are to be expected in the summer months. In such weather conditions, it cannot be ensured that the upper limit of 30 °C for the fresh concrete temperature, which has been specified in the regulations to date, will be maintained during placement. This can have a negative effect on the processing properties as well as on the mechanical and durability properties of the concrete.

These effects are investigated in laboratory tests, with practical variation of concrete-technological influencing parameters, and then verified in on-site tests. From this, practical measures and recommendations for implementation in construction practice and in the regulations are derived.
